Directions to the LSE are available at http://www.lse.ac.uk/resources/mapsAndDirections/howToGetToLSE.htm. The Research Workshop will be held in the Vera Anstey Room located in the Old Building http://www.lse.ac.uk/resources/mapsAndDirections/findingYourWayAroundLSE.htm.
On entering the main Old Building entrance on Houghton Street walk past the reception desk and take the first staircase on your right. The Vera Anstey suite is in front of you and is clearly signposted above the door frame. Go through the small reception area and into the conference room facility.
At the end of the day we have arranged for an early supper in the People's Palace restaurant at the Festival Hall, just across the river from the LSE.

Tadaaki Otaka proved his affinity with British music while chief conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Prefacing the noble, nostalgic strains of Elgar's First Symphony, an evocation of the long-gone Edwardian era, Sibelius' folk-inspired Karelia Suite is followed by Mendelssohn's evergreen and romantic Violin Concerto.

Pierre-Laurent Aimard piano
The renowned French pianist, whose powerful intellect matches his virtuoso technique, contributes to the South Bank's Birtwistle Festival with a programme juxtaposing the composer's intricate piano writing against some of his most fascinating forerunners and influences: Bartók, Ravel and Ligeti. Aimard himself was the dedicatee of several of Ligeti's astonishing piano Etudes.
