Activities and Events
The goal of the opening workshop was to establish clusters
of research agendas and issues for further investigation by
network subsets (working groups). These issues were expected
to involve
pilot work to establish facts or opinions, or might be theoretical,
such as the bringing together of theoretical frameworks. Members outlined their relevant research, the issues arising from
their perspectives, and their research agendas. A representative from the National Patient Safety Agency
(NPSA) and MRc was invited.
The network ran a 1 day research
workshop in London on the 3rd of November
aimed at PhD students and other new researchers
in the field of medication error and technology.
The aim was to attract people working directly
in the area (e.g. on computerised prescribing,
administration etc.), but also in other
fields that may have relevant ideas to
contribute (engineering, finance, safety,
risk).
The workshop was free. Participants were selected on the basis of submission
of a brief abstract of their work.
The workshop covered a number of interesting topics in the
area. A summary report has been prepared : please click
